Die Strandloper

Stomach and mind prepared. We were ready for all the seafood. Langebaan is just an hour away from Cape Town, what you'll find here is a little secret called Die Strandloper. This is a down to earth, super chilled, and super awesome place. Think white sands, clear sea water, and some of the best and freshest seafood you will have. Top that all with some friendly locals and you have a day of fun in the sun.

There's about 10 courses for R250, but you get fresh mussels, fish that tastes so amazing you'll have to have seconds. My favourite fish is definitely the snoek, it's just so meaty and the flavour that hits the back of your throat is just great. You'll also be treated with crayfish and a local delicacy called "Waterblommetjiebredie" which transtales to small water flower stew.

And last but not least, the homemade bread, butter and jam, as simple as this sounds it is just the best. I've never tasted bread like that, crispy on the outside, yet soft and fluffy on the inside. Maybe it's cos they bake the bread in those awesome beach ovens, all I know is they're delicious.

I love visiting this little spot on the beach, the amazing food makes up for the very boring drive.
