Budget outing {Chapmans Peak}

On a budget or it's the middle of the month? Instead of staying home, pack a nice picnic basket with some yummies and bring along a bottle of wine. I love driving. Chapmans Peak is gorgeous.

Elle and I jumped in our car to have an adventure. We started off at Rhodes Memorial. Which is fantastic. It's free and has some hiking trails close by. The Rhodes Memorial monument is quite spectacular. Don't worry about looking like a tourist. I'm sure I did with my camera happy ways. There are some nice spots to have sundowners so explore the area.

If you're feeling fit, then start from the bottom of Rhodes Memorial and walk up to the top. I love the trees. Everything is so green during.

Onwards we go. Various ways of getting up Chappies. We chose to go through Hout Bay. We blasted the music in the car with our windows down and just enjoyed the views. Everyone drives pretty chilled so it's nice and relaxed. We stopped at all the viewing points and were treated to 180 degree views of ocean and mountain. The drive is windy and fun! Reminds me of one of those Audi or BMW commercials where the hero is zooming around the corners furiously like he has a mission.

The toll fee is a mere R30 something Rand so it won't break the bank. With just R100 bucks in your pocket you could get a wine, some snacks and a toll fee.
